We are a forward-thinking property management company looking for a versatile Junior Accountant / Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This dual role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting and accounts payable, particularly within the real estate and property management sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing financial statements and performing balance sheet reconciliations
• Provide support to the senior accountant on financial reporting and accounting projects.
• Maintain accurate financial records, including bank reconciliations, accounts receivable/payable management, and payroll.
• Process invoices and manage the full accounts payable cycle
• Maintain vendor relationships and resolve payment discrepancies promptly.
• Verify financial data, generate reports, and ensure timely payments.
• Uphold internal policies to ensure compliance and consistency in financial operations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in accounting and accounts payable, preferably in real estate or property management
• Mandatory proficiency with Property Matrix software
• Familiarity with AppFolio, QuickBooks, Google Sheets, and Google Drive
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or substantial progress towards such a degree. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Accounts Payable Associate) are a plus.

Additional Information:

• This is a fully remote, freelance position
• This position is exclusively available to independent freelancers; agencies are not required to apply.
• Monthly performance bonus of $250 for on-time completion of reports, resolution of invoice/payable issues, and successful completion of tasks
